Artist's Description
Gouache on 600gsm watercolour paper. 54x57cm (21x 23")
This is my first major painting using gouache. I like the textural effects that I was able to obtain in the background and it's always fun (and challenging!) trying out a new medium.
This is a still-life I set up myself using items I have at home. The colours were changed to create more harmony.
Update: May 2012. This painting won 1st prize ($1000) in the still-life section of the Ipswich Art Awards.
